First edition impression with “jizure” (self-printed) seal in the upper left margin. The artist’s black ink brush signature and red seal is at the lower right and the print is pencil-signed in the lower right margin. Illustrated in “The Complete Woodblock Prints of Yoshida Hiroshi, ” Abe Publications, color plate #38 (page 56). Paper measures 15 7/8″ x 10 1/2″ (image size: 14 1/2″ x nearly 9 5/8″). Generally very good overall condition with full margins. The print is faded and fade line is evident around the edges of the image. The top back margin edge has old tape and tape residue adhering which causes the print to be slightly wavy at the top. This print is from a Fountain Hills, Arizona collection. No sign of this can be seen from the front. Lived from 1883 until 1957. During his Life he Created Over 600 Different Woodblock Scenes and he is Recognised as one of Most Prolific and Most Talented of Shin Hanga Artists from the Early 20th Century. Most of his woodblocks were published by Watanabe but he also had some of his work published by other companies including by Isetatsu, Bijutsusha, Kawaguchi and Sakai, Tokyo Shobido and Doi Teiichi.
