Vintage cherry blossom woodblock print titled Cherry Blossoms by Japanese artist Eiichi Kotozuka circa 1950. Piece was printed in muted colors intentionally, the colors have not faded. Hallmarks: Print is signed with artist’s chop mark in lower corners. Dimensions: Full Height 19 1/4″ x Width 13 7/8″. Matted Image Height 15 1/8″ x Width 9 3/4″. Woodblock Paper Height 17 5/8″ x Width 11 7/8″. Printed Image Height 15 3/4″ x Width 10 3/8″. Weight: 2.1 oz. Condition: Very good vintage condition. Woodblock is attached to backing only along the rightmost margin of the paper. Faint age related discoloration to matting. A gift from Sister Marguerite Fall, SNJM to Marylhurst College Art Department (Marylhurst University) on June 19, 1945. Hiroshi Yoshida was a 20th-century Japanese painter and woodblock printmaker. He is regarded as one of the greatest artists of the shin-hanga style, and is noted especially for his excellent landscape prints.
