This particular woodblock dates to the late 1970s. It is signed by the artist, Toshi Yoshida, in English in pencil on the right bottom right margin and in Japanese within the image (with chop). The title of this piece is on the lower left hand margin. It depicts Iidabashi (View From Iida Bridge; Daytime in Tokyo) in serene blues and reflections in the water with workmen in their boats beneath the river walls – a wonderful scene that transports the viewer to another place and time. Image Size 10″ x 7 1/4″. With Mat & Frame. Professionally framed in Tokyo. Water-based Ink on Paper. The Japanese water-based inks provide a wide range of vivid colors, glazes, and transparency.
