A magnificent impression of one of Maki’s largest and most beautifully composed woodblock prints. This elegant abstract composition is printed on Maki’s unique embossed white cement textured background with relief embossed silver and gold ink areas. Is the artistic name of Maejima Tadaaki, who was born in. Artist in 20th Century. He had no formal art training, but was guided by the. Maki Haku represented Japan at the Tokyo International Print Biennale in 1957 and 1960. Haku Maki is best known for his unique abstract and calligraphic prints with beautiful textural effects, elegant compositions and deep rich colors. In his calligrafic prints he distorts and rearranged characters and strokes to produce striking and serene images. Many of his abstract images are in embossed relief. Among his most famous works are the prints from his Poem Series and his Work Series. Ancient Japanese Poems from the Kinkafu is a translation of 21 ancient poems called Kinkafu or Music for Wagon Songs. The work is accompanied by Haku Maki’s prints that were made in 1968-69.
