This is an original woodblock print about 44 years old. This woodblock print is one of the core collections of a large number of gorgeous, different-styled Japanese woodblock print collections in my family. The size of this woodblock print is 21 1/4 x 12 inches, which is MUCH LARGER than the traditional Shin Hanga woodblock prints. The colors, which are vivid and vibrant, are in layers. Four borders are intact. This woodblock print is not attached to any backing paper or cardboard and strong ink bleeding can be seen through the back of the original mulberry paper. The artists PENCIL SIGNED SIGNATURE F Fujita, PENCIL WRITTEN title of this woodblock print White Forest, the year this print was made 1973, and the LIMITED-NUMBER 169/200 are in the bottom border. Except for some light foxing in the borders (margins), which do not affect the images at all, this woodblock print is in good condition. It is hard to find such a beautiful and rare original LIMITED-NUMBER (169/200) woodblock print PENCIL SIGNED by the contemporary Japanese Shin Hanga woodblock print master Fujita Fumio in the public nowadays. This original woodblock print is definitely an incredible piece for collecting. Please examine the photos. Personal checks will take about ten days to clear. Untitled (but known as Cat and Girl). Crisp impression in very good condition. Hand signed in pencil with artist seal (chop) on the back. Full print measures 11.5″ x 8.25″ and is unframed. Kiyoshi Saito was a well known and beloved ssaku hanga artist in 20th century Japan. His first prints in his now famous “Winter in Aizu” series were issued in 1938. Saito was one of the first Japanese printmaking artists to have won at the São Paulo Biennale in 1951. Rare Kawase Hasui 1924 original pre war “A” seal Japanese Shin Hanga woodblock. From the Souvenirs of Travel, Third series. Published by The Watanabe Color Print Co. Tape remnants on verso top from previous matte hinges. Pinhole top left front corner area. General toning and some color fading to print. What appears to be slight “scuff” marks (about 1 in length) just below the right side roof of the pavilion. No tears, rips, repairs or other damage present.
